Kwarans who made the difference in 2017

 

In the outgone year, some Kwarans made remarkable achievements in their various field of endeavour to make the state proud. Below are some Kwarans who made the difference in 2017 as presented by JOKE ADENIYI-JACKSON.

Muritala Awodun: The Executive Chairman of Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) has done the yoreman’s job as regards revenue collection in the state. The agency was able to raise the bar by shoring up astronomically the IGR of the state. The agency made history by generating N17bn within 10 months through tax collection in 2017.
Uthman Ajidagba: The Chairman of the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC), Dr. Uthman Ajidagba successfully conducted the November 18, 2017 Local Government Election. The success achieved is not a mean feat, which earned him accolades from eminent Kwarans. His nomination as Resident Electoral Commission (REC) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which came shortly after the LG polls could be in recognition of the feat achieved.

Lukman Mustapha: The former banker carved a niche for himself last year when his radio station, Sobi FM stormed the airwaves with development and people oriented programmes. The radio is however, widely believed to be a tool which Mustapha will deploy to promote his alleged gubernatorial ambition.

Ayinke Saka: Alhaja Ayinke Saka, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development is no doubt a woman passionate about her job. This she demonstrated by giving hope to the hopeless, especially the less privileged through initiatives and programmes of her ministry. The prosecution of a father who defiled his daughter for six years and rehabilitating the girl and other minors who were victims of child abuse, has put her in the good books of Kwarans. She is expected to do more in this wise in 2018.
