Suspected Burglars Raid Ilorin Community, Steal 10 Car Batteries, Generators, Laptop, Phones

Residents of Galadima Community in the Airport area of Ilorin West Local Government were left shaken after an unidentified group believed to be burglars broke into the area, making off with ten car batteries, generators, a laptop, and numerous phones.

The incident took place on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, catching the victims unaware as they slept peacefully in their homes.

Reports suggest that the suspects scaled fences and entered the compounds to carry out their raids.

When National Pilot visited the area, victims of the crime shared their harrowing experiences with our reporter, expressing their dismay over the rising crime rate in the area.

One victim, former National Pilot Editor, Christie Doyin, said she woke up to find her car battery missing.

Another victim who simply identified himself as Mubarak, reported that his car battery was stolen, along with his laptop.

Alhaji Kamaldeen Adelakun recounted how the suspects entered his compound, took two batteries, and left one in a nearby bush.

Community Chairman Bolaji Sulaiman Tejumola expressed sadness over the incident, revealing that six houses were affected.

He assured residents that security measures have been heightened to protect the community.

Tejumola called on Commissioner of Police Victor Olaiya and other security agencies to intervene promptly and ensure residents’ safety.
