Kwara team wins inter-state boxing competition

Kwara state boxing team emerged winners of the Kwara, Ekiti interstate boxing friendly which took place in the Kwara state Indoor Sports Hall on Thursday.
Kwara won five out of the eight bouts featured in the competition.
Highlight of Kwara team performance was the knockout victory of Ahmed Sulyman in the Fly Weight class over Akingbade Samuel.
Earlier in the first bout, Balogun Kudus won a unanimous decision against Osanju Toba in L Fly Weigh class to signal a good outing for Kwara.
Ekiti state recorded their first victory as Samuel Tosin punched Liadi Abulazeez to victory in the Light Weight class.
Ekiti state came out with another victory when Omotola Alaba scored a unanimous victory over Abdullahi Taiye while their third victory came in a knockout against Said Ibrahim of Kwara in the Light Welter weight class.
In the Welter weight class, Jimoh Ismail raised Kwara’ hope of winning the day as he punched Ijalusi Samson to victory.
Fausiat Tijani of Kwara won the only Female bout of the competition after beating Bukola Emmanuel in the Female Feather Weight bout by split decision.
Banusa Ibrahim of Kwara scored a technical knockout over his Ekiti state opponent Ogundare Ebenezer as the referee stopped the fight in the second round.
