Kwara Utd records another slim home victory

The Harmony Boys who have won all matches at home so far this season with the exception of the opening draw with Sunshine continued their impressive result in Ilorin with a 1-0 victory over league leaders MFM FC of Lagos.
The host started the game on a brighter note but the visitors tactics of delaying the time from the blast of the whistle disrupt the flow of the game as the referee had to stop the game on countless occasions.
With chances very hard to find during the contest, the first real opportunity fell to the visitors when Kwara United goalkeeper, Oremade Olanale fail to hold-on to a cross and dropped it in the hands of a MFM FC player who fired wide even after been placed on goal with the goalkeeper on the ground.
Into the last minutes of the three minutes additional time,ย  the Harmony Boys almost got the breakthrough when Samson Adereye’s deflected effort was handled on the touchline by the Odekunle Olatunji who is in goal for MFM.
Aware of the importance of the game, Kwara United coach, Abubakar Bala reacted with an early change in the second period with the ineffective Samson Adeleye replaced by AbdulRazak Alamoyo – whose introduction helps to improve the movement of the ball and improve the performance of the home side.
With an improve performance, Kwara United took the lead nine minutes after the restart when substitute, Alamoyo shows great balance and skill to run through three MFM players before giving the ball to Uche who place Hasimu Shamsudeen on goal and the striker made no mistake by chipping the ball passย  Odekunle Olatunji.
After the goal, the game opened up and Kwara United could have doubled their advantage but fail to convert their chances.
MFM FC mount a late pressure to seek for a equaliser but the Ilorin-based side held firm and got another massive point at home, which takes them away from the relegation zone.
Speaking with journalists after the game, the Chief Coach, Kwara united football club, Afisat Suleiman said, it is not easy playing with a team on the top of the table.
Suleiman however expresses optimism that his club will have a victorious outing against visiting Rangers during the midweek.
“We should expect nothing less than three point against Rangers on Wednesday, no doubt about that.”
