Kwara State Council for Arts and Culture, Ilorin came second in the just concluded African Drum Festival tagged Drum Festival ’19 which held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The Kwara State Troupe was the defending champion having come first in the 2018 edition.
According to the Kwara State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Amina Ahmed, the state troupe claimed the second prize behind Gombe State and ahead of Ondo State which placed third.
For finishing as runners-up in the festival, the Kwara State troupe won a cash prize of N1million.
The festival, themed “Drumming the Future” came to an end at The Amphitheatre, City Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State over the weekend.
