Ekiti LG boss gets NUT merit award

For his immense contributions towards the uplift of education in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, the Chairman of the council, Comrade Yinka Ayeni Dallas has been bestowed a merit award by the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT).

Part of the letter jointly signed on Tuesday by Com. Ajidahun M.K and Com. Oyebode Y.J, the NUT Secretary and Chairman respectively, read thus; “I humbly write to officially invite and inform you that you are to be given a merit award for your passion and commitment towards ‘education revival’ in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.

“Your educational programmes for pupils and students across the local government are clear demonstration of your commitment to uplift the lives of our future leaders.”

 The event is scheduled to hold 10 am on July 12 at Osi Comprehensive Secondary School (OCSS), Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.

In a related development, the Council of Imams and Ulamaah, Ekiti Local Government chapter has expressed their profound gratitude to the council chairman for the food items and other commodities distributed among all Chief Imams and Ulamaah in the area, during the month of Ramadan.

 In a letter signed by the Secretary, Mallam Aliyu Sola Abdulkareem, the Islamic clerics re-affirmed the support and cooperation of their members even as they prayed for guidance and wisdom for Dallas in order to continue to pilot the affairs of the local government.

Meanwhile, the Ekiti LG boss has promised to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to people at the grassroots even as he enjoined them to continue to support the Senate President and the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Dr Bukola Saraki and Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed.
