Kwara Water Corporation gets acting GM
The Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has approved
the appointment of Engr. Shehu Umar (MNSE), as the acting General
Manager of the state Water Corporation.
The directive came through the office of the Secretary to the State
Government to the Ministry of Water Resources, Ilorin.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Afolabi Ezekiel Adesola,
made the disclosure yesterday, during a meeting between the management
of the Ministry of Water Resources and Water Corporation.
Afolabi, during the meeting, solicited for cooperation of management
and staff of the Corporation just as he assured the acting General
Manager of the unwavering support of employees of the Ministry of
Water Resources to ensure he succeeds in his new role.
The Permanent Secretary subsequently directed the immediate handing
over of all necessary documents to the acting Corporation boss.
Umar, who until his appointment was Assistant General Manager (AGM),
Electrical/Electronics of the Corporation succeeds, Alhaji Tunde
Yahaya, whose tenure lapsed, recently.
The appointee holds a Higher National Diploma certificate in
Mechanical Engineering and Post Graduate Diploma (PGD), in Mechanical
Engineering. Umar who is a member of Nigeria Society of Engineers
(NSE) holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration (International
Business Management) among others.
