KWHA commences renovation of Assembly commission offices

The Kwara State House of Assembly has commenced renovation of offices to be used by appointed officials of the pioneer Assembly Service Commission.

The building which has about four offices once housed the office of a former House of Assembly Legislative Aide to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, Hon Ayansola Muhammed, some assembly media officers among others.

When this reporter visited the structure yesterday, renovation works were still ongoing.

The Speaker, Hon Ali Ahmad penultimate week announced the appointment of former speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Babatunde Muhammed and four others have been appointed as the pioneer Chairman and members.

Other members of the commission include a former member of House, Hon. Nimota Aduke Ibrahim, a former Commissioner for Health Hon. Atolagbe Sulyman Alege, the House of Representatives Candidate of the PDP for Edu/Moro/Pategi in the last generation election, Alh. Hassan Mahmudu Babako and the House of Assembly Candidate of the PDP for Oke-Ero in the last election, Mr. Alex Kehinde Bankole.

Ahmad statement signed by the Assembly Chief Press Secretary, AbdurRahman Sani reads “the House has approved the list of chairman and members of the State House of Assembly Service Commission in line with section 4 (1) of the law establishing the Commission.

” They are Hon. Abdul Azeez Babatunde Mohammed Chairman, while Hon. Nimota Aduke Ibrahim, Atolagbe S Alege, Alhaji Hassan Mahmudu Babako and Mr Alex Kehinde Bankole, will serve as members” he added.

Speaking to national pilot last week, Babatunde had said he was yet to be officially communicated over the development.

According to him, ”The Speaker, Dr Ali Ahmad just called me Tuesday (last week) to give me the information and I want to regard it as privileged information.

”I am still waiting for the officially confirmation through a letter from the Clerk of the House. It is after that I can make official reaction on the issue.

”What I will say now is to thank everybody who made the appointment possible”, Mohammed submitted.

Also, Hon Nimota Ibrahim said she was not aware of the appointment yet when contacted and several calls to the former commissioner of health, Atolagbe Alage were not answered then

It could not be confirmed whether the House has officially notified them last night.
