“You should endeavour to always support the people around you to grow and not impede their progress.”
Speaking on what the children will miss most about the deceased, her son, Alhaji Ahmed Bolaji Nagode said, “We will sorely miss her as she was a disciplinarian and she brought us all in the way of the Holy Quran and the dictates of Prophet Mohammed (SAW).
“She taught us all to be humble and to always be of assistance to our neighbours and the less privileged in the society. Alhaja spent her money on the path of Islam and even built a mosque at Mubo area in Ilorin.
“You could hear the numerous testimonies from people especially, the teenager then that she inspired to become a lawyer and the elderly man who talked about how mama stood for peace among the family.”

Unfortunately, I got a call last Thursday from my sister, Justice Titi Daibu, telling me that mama is dead.
“We will miss her but we however take solace in the fact that she died on her preferred day and in the holy month (Ramadan). Alhaja before her death consistently told us that people who die on Thursday or Friday are very lucky because people pray for the dead on those two days.”

Bureau of Lands generates N148m in 3 months
Following the N4.9bn budgeted for the Kwara State Bureau of Lands in the recent budget presentation by the Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed the ministry has generated the sum of N148 million from January – March 2019.
Speaking with our reporter in our office last Wednesday, the Director General of the Bureau, Alhaji Salman Ibraheem said the Bureau is the highest revenue generating ministry in the state.
He said, “We have generated a total of N148 million and we have the capacity to achieve more but for the secretariat under construction.
“By the time the building must have been completed, most of our operations will be automated. We will be operating online, a development that will make our operation faster as we would locate more land users and generate more revenue.
“We know that the completion of land administration secretariat will facilitate quick and wide coverage and generation of land charge bills for all land users in the state as it will be easier to process land titles.”
Speaking on the achievements of the Bureau under the outgoing administration, he said, “We have been dialoguing with owners of lands as the law permits the government the eminent power of domain on land and that same law recognises the customary land owner.”
On the challenges faced, he said customary land owners have reduced greatly.
“Some customary land owners that have issue with us went to court and we have resolved several of them through dialogue. Now the Bureau of Lands is more friendly than we used to be.
“We have resolved issues with some people in Malete, Budo Osho family, Awosun family in new GRA and the Tapa family. We are to resolve land issues with Alagbon, Babalawo family in Budo Osho area.
“Some customary land owners are very difficult but we try to make things easier with them. Sometimes we have to bring police to intervene,” he said.
Speaking further, he said the Bureau is also confronted with problem of logistics and other facilities to work with such as vehicles among other things.
