He shares with our JUDICIARY CORRESPONDENT, KAYODE ADEOTI, the most unforgettable experience he ever had in the legal profession. Excerpts:
The most dramatic moment I ever encountered centred on a matter that involved recovery of certain amount of money. Then, Trade bank was still in existence and I was the solicitor to the financial institution. I was asked to recover some amount of money from one of the debtors of the bank. The lawyer defending the debtor, who was respondent in the case, after we’ve exchanged briefs, made some admissions of part of the money we were claiming. Since some part of the money had been admitted, I just felt I should go on with the case. I made the application and surprisingly, it was granted, it was something I never envisaged. The counsel at the other side who is a senior lawyer became rattled.
