Don’t allow politicians use you promote discord, cleric warns Muslims

Chief Imam of Olarewaju Jum’at mosque, Ilorin, Imam Abdulqadri Olarewaju on Friday said Muslims must not allow politicians use them to distsbilise the unity and progress of the community.
He also said that Allah (SWT) created this ephemeral world for everyone irrespective of the tribe, religion and race human beings come from.
Olarewau further enjoined Muslims to live in peace with one another adding that if the country is in turmoil no one will be left out nor benefit from it.
“It is because there is peace we are here. If the country is in turmoil we won’t be able to observe our five daily prayers, Jum’at prayer let alone go to the market to buy foodstuff among other things.
“Most of our politicians that are in the position of leadership are privilege to be there today. Some past leaders were once in that positions before they relinquish it to the present crop of leaders. Same will apply to them when their tenures elapses. It is just a pity that some of our politicians do not believe in what God says and directs us to do, thinking that they will be in the position forever which is not so,” he opined.
Imam Olarenwaju also appealed to Muslims not to allow any politician to use them to fan the embers of disunity in order to sow the seed of discord among themselves whether on food or money which are baseless.
He therefore prayed that Allah (SWT) should grant Nigerians, leaders who are selfless, patriotic and possess the fear of God in them in order to steer the country to a lofty position among comity of nations.
