By Ahmed Ajikobi

An Imam of the Ilorin General Hospital mosque, Ilorin, Dr. Khalid Bello has charged Muslims to prepare for the Day of Judgement, adding that everyone will account for their deeds.
He further said that Muslims should engage in good deeds and shun negative tendencies in order to be favoured with the grace of Almighty Allah.
Bello stated this at the Juma’at service during his sermon (Khutba) before the two traditional rakats adding that last deed of individual before our death will determined how we shall be raised up on the Day of Judgement.
According to him, everyone will die but when, where, how and our last deed before our death will determine our position with almighty Allah in the hereafter.
The cleric warned that “Some of us unfortunately will be at the beer parlor or hotel committing fornication and dancing or listening to bad songs when death will catch up with us. But for those who will be singing Allah’s praise, observing Solat and fasting among other things when death comes knocking will have receive glad tidings on resurrection day.
He said “On the day of judgment, people will be in dilemma as they will be waiting for Allah’s judgement.
“They will be running helter-skelter to the prophets of Allah to seek help but all of them will reply that God is angry today in a way He has never been angry before. The fear of Allah that day will make them decline until they get to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) who will intercede for the Muslims in the exalted position Allah has placed him.
“So, I will urge every one of us to emulate and practised the good deeds as instructed by Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in order to meet almighty Allah in good condition to avoid His wrath.”
“Paradise is the Supreme success for Muslims and we must do everything possible to ensure that we make it by adhering to words of Allah (SWT) and the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad (SWT). Once we are steadfast in these and with the grace of Allah, the rest will be easy. As Muslims, what should be paramount most in our mind is how to attain paradise. All other thing is secondary”, he added.
