KWASAA targets N120m in 2018

 

The Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA) has said, it is focused on raking in N120million as revenue in 2018.

This was disclosed by the General Manager of the agency, Hammed Olufadi in a press statement issued and sign by the Press Secretary, Abubakar Owolabi yesterday in Ilorin.

According to the agency, the target is achievable with emphasis on transparency, accountability and participation among the management, staff and the general public.

Olufadi while informing the members of public on the activities of the agency this year said, the KWASAA will be distributing bills to billboard owners as usual adding that, the people should be law abiding in paying their annual rates as at when due to avoid embarrassment through removal of billboards.

“The agency usually takes its time to distribute bills and payment notice to shop owners, clients and other stakeholders; followed by the notice of enforcement before the enforcement proper on defaulters when payment is not made, this is to avoid increment to the clients as directed by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.”

He said the agency is working tirelessly despite the economic situation in the country by doing everything possible to ensure that people comply with the KWASAA’s regulation for easy revenue generation for the government.

According to him, funds generated by the agency are channelled towards delivering dividends of democracy to the people such as dualisation of Sango/Oke Oyi road among others.

In her contribution, the Secretary, Mrs. Olibiyo Funmilola, admonished the staff to abide by the civil service rules in their dealings so as to enhance the productivity of agency in its quest to meet the revenue target for 2018.

She also advocated for mutual understanding among the staff, management and general public while also urging the field staff to show courtesy to people to enhance revenue generation.

“Staff must always be at their duty posts by 8:00 am and sign out by 4:00pm before leaving office.”
