Kwara FA agrees partnership with Owu sports wear

 

Less than fifteen days when new executives were elected into the board
of the Kwara State Football Association, the board led by Mallam Idris
Abdullahi Musa today in Lagos State, signed a partnership agreement
with leading sportswear company in Nigeria, Owu Sports.
The new agreement is expected to last for a year, with an automatic
renewal clause that will take the partnership to the end of the
current administration’s tenure.
The state football association chairman, Mallam Idris disclosed to
news men in Lagos that the initiative behind the deal is part of the
rebranding process going on at the association.
โ€œWe need to start from somewhere to be able to know where we are
going. A few days ago when we came on board, I told Kwarans that we
are taking football administration to the next level and Our board
started working immediately and we realise Owu Sports Wear has been
exception on the local scene, most especially they were kits sponsor
to many Nigeria top clubs and other establishments, so we wasted no
time in reaching an agreement to convince Owu Sports to come on board.
Similarly, vice-chairman, Bashorun Kayode Bankole said partnering with
Owu Sports Wear is ideal for the association while advising other
sporting association in the state to also key into such partnership.
โ€œWe have a lot of programs coming on board so having Owu Sports Wear
on board will surely add glamour to our activities. Also other
sporting associations in the state can learn from this and then work
towards having a sponsorship agreementโ€, He concluded. On his own
part, Barrister Tunji Brown, Owu Sports Wear Chief Executive Officer,
expressed delight at the signing of the new contract: โ€œOwu Sports Wear
is very, very happy with its new formed relationship with the Kwara
state football association, it shows what we are doing in Nigeria is
being appreciated.
โ€œThe jersey we designed and alongside the New Logo for Kwara football
association are extremely high in quality and the contract we signed
today is a day to be remembered for good.


…to organise Governor’s Cup

The new chairman of Kwara Football Association, Mallam Idris Musa, has
said that his board has concluded arrangements to organise an U-15
football tournament between all the 16 Local Government Councils in
the State.
Mallam Musa said this when he paid the Permanent Secretary of the
state ministry of Sports and Youth Development, Alhaji Shuiab Akanbi,
a courtesy call in his office as part of his familiarisation tours.
Mallam Musa who later presented a giant trophy for the tournament to
the Permanent Secretary, said the competition will be part of
activities to commemorate 100 days in office of Governor Abdulrahman
Abdulrazaq.
He solicited the support of the ministry to develop football in the
state and outlined many of the numerous activities of the association
before the year runs out.
The new Kwara FA Boss also used the occasion to thank the ministry for
its leadership role it played during the electioneering campaign.
Responding, the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Shuiab Akanbi,
congratulated Mallam Musa for his success at the polls and commended
all stakeholders in the state for setting a standard for other states
to follow.
“I want to thank all stakeholders in the state for conducting
themselves peacefully before, during and after the elections.
“I want to assure you that my ministry will give your board the needed
support for you to succeed” Akanbi said.
The Permanent Secretary advised the new board to look inward
critically to develop the round leather game in the state.
