Ex-NTA journalist, Abdulkadri loses wife

The Media Aid to the Minister of Defence, Mohammad Abdulkadri has lost his wife, Mariam Abdulkadri to the cold hand of death after battling with diabetes.
Mariam, 51 died last Thursday after a brief illness at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital and she has since been buried according to the Islamic rite.
In his sermon during the Janazat for late Mariam, Alhaji Olayinka Imam advised other members of the family to emulate the good virtues of deceased, whom he said lived a worthy life.
Speaking to our reporter, Abdulkadri described the demise of his wife as a rude shock.
“Her death is a rude shock. So devastating. But we thank God she lived a good life. It is not how far but how well.
“She was a loving wife. She was there for me. She was there for the family. She was there for everybody.
“We had our plans and what she intends to achieve. But death aborted these plans. I pray Allah grant her aljana fridaus,” the ace journalist said.
He added that his late wife succumbed to diabetes after a long battle with the ailment.
“She fell sick for three days. She was rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital on Monday morning. She battled diabetes, but we had thought she had gotten over it. Not until it struck again last Sunday.”
He expressed gratitude to everyone who stood by the family at their time of grief.
Similarly, the first son of the deceased, Mammod Mohammad described the exit of his mum as a shock.
“Actually I was there when she died and her untimely death devastated me. It shocked me so much because we never knew this would happen so soon.
“She was admitted for two days before she kicked the bucket. She is a very loving, generous and kind mother, โ€œhe said.
