Kwara Utd hosts U-15 La Liga team

 

…promotes 4 players to senior team

Kwara United Football Club last Thursday, at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Kwara State Stadium Complex hosted and rewarded the U-15 team that came second in the last NPFL/LaLiga Promises competition.
The team lost by a lone goal to Katsina United in the final decided at the Package B pitch of the Abuja National Stadium in April.
Receiving the team, the state Governor, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, Alhaji Shuaib Akanbi-Oke said that this administration will use sports to engage and empower the young ones in the state.
He also said that the government has approved N5m for the purchase of kits and equipment for the athletes, which will soon be distributed to selected primary and secondary schools in the state.
He commended the U-15 team for doing the state proud.
Earlier, the Chairman of Kwara United, Prince Oladimeji Thompson thanked the state Governor, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman for his support.
He announced that three of the players have been invited to the national team, while three of them have also been elevated to the main team.
He also praised the technical crew and other officials for their sacrifice and commitment.
The player and officials were given cash rewards.
