Ajulo-Opin presents bill to establish COED Omu-Aran, one other
Hon. Tunji Olawuyi, the member representing Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency, on Tuesday presented two bills on the floor of the House of Representatives.
The bills are Federal College of Education, Omu-Aran (Establishment) Bill, 2019 (HB 130) and Nigerian Iron and Steel Development Act (Repeal and Enactment) Bill, 2019 (HB130).
The lawmaker, who was first elected into the house on Nov. 17, 2018 through by-election to replace late Funke Adedoyin, was seeking for a Bill to establish Federal College of Education, Omu-Aran.
While presenting the bills on the floor of the house, Olawuyi said he is delighted that the bills are gradually seeing the light of the day and urged his colleagues to expedite action on its passage.
The lawmaker said the Federal College of Education, Omu-Aran Bill is to fill up the gap in the concentration of educational institutions in Kwara State.
The two Bills went through its first reading on Tuesday on the floor of the Green Chamber.
It would be recalled that Omu-Aran remains one of the biggest town in Kwara without a government higher institution and it is the most populated town in the Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency.
It would also be recalled that Osi in Ekiti local government area of the state has a satellite campus of Kwara State University and Oro in Irepodun has the Kwara College of Education.
