Ferguson wants Man Utd to sign McGinn

Sir Alex Ferguson is lobbying Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sign Aston Villa’s John McGinn, according to the Sun.
The 24-year-old midfielder’s grandfather is good friends with Ferguson and the ex-United boss thinks his temperament and offensive skill would help the Red Devils.
Villa want £50 million ($62m) for McGinn, but United might be tempted to pay with Ferguson’s seal of approval.


Ziyech confirms Sevilla snub

Arsenal and Liverpool linked Ajax star Hakim Ziyech has confirmed he rejected the chance to join Sevilla, citing a desire to remain with the Dutch champions until he can find a “perfect picture” elsewhere.
Ziyech’s name has been linked with big clubs as well, as Arsenal and Liverpool have been among the Premier League clubs suggested as possible destinations.
And the Morocco international has now confirmed that one team did make an offer – La Liga club Sevilla – but he was not interested in joining a squad that he considers on the same level as Ajax.


Everton in talks to sign Juve’s Kean

The Serie A champions would demand a buy-back clause for the young striker.
Everton are in talks to sign Juventus striker Moise Kean with the Serie A champions demanding €40 million (£36m/$45m), reports Sky Sports.
The Toffees are looking to bring in another striker after Ademola Lookman departed for RB Leipzig.
Talks are on-going though Juve are believed to require a buy-back clause be inserted into any deal for the 19-year-old.


Klopp was keen on shock Ribery swoop

The German coach was interested in a move if attacking players departed Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp was interested in bringing in veteran Franck Ribery to Liverpool this summer, according to l’Equipe.
The 36-year-old winger is out of contract with Bayern Munich and Klopp, who has always been a fan of Ribery, was considering a move depending on what happened with his squad.
But since there has been little movement in the Liverpool attack, no place has been freed up for Ribery to join.


Hodgson in dark over Zaha future

Roy Hodgson claims to be unaware of what the future holds for Wilfried Zaha, with the Crystal Palace winger continuing to be linked with Arsenal and Everton.
The Gunners would appear to have cooled their interest for now, with Goal able to confirm that those at Emirates Stadium are close to wrapping up an €80 million (£72m/$89m) deal for Lille forward Nicolas Pepe.
Zaha, though, is still sparking talk of interest from within the Premier League, with Everton said to have joined the hunt for the Ivory Coast international.


‘Bale will find it easy in China’

Gareth Bale will find it “easy” if a move to China is made, says Mousa Dembele, with the former Tottenham team-mate of the Wales international hoping to see a transfer completed from Real Madrid.
A switch to Asia continues to be mooted for a man who is in danger of being frozen out at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Zinedine Zidane has brought Bale back into his plans during pre-season, but the Blancos are still looking to move the 30-year-old on if a suitable bidder can be found.

Roma are set to beat a host of rival clubs to the signing of highly-rated Paris Saint-Germain youngster Ruben Providence.
The 19-year-old, who plays as a right winger for the Ligue 1 club’s youth team, has been the subject of interest from several leading European clubs.
However, Goal can confirm he is close to agreeing terms with Serie A outfit Roma, with the player expected to sign either a three or four-year contract.


Dani Alves ‘looking for job’ amid link to Arsenal

Dani Alves is still waiting on offers this summer, with the legendary Brazilian full-back admitting on social media that is “looking for a job” after dropping into the free agent pool.
The 36-year-old finds himself without a club after leaving Paris Saint-Germainat the end of his contract, having opted against signing fresh terms.
He has now taken to Instagram in an effort to tout his services, saying: “Looking for a job, where do I put my resume?”


Lukaku teases Man Utd exit

Romelu Lukaku has hinted at an update on his situation at Manchester United, with the Belgian striker continuing to be heavily linked with a move to Inter.
A summer switch for the 26-year-old has been mooted for some time with Antonio Conte making no secret of his desire to bring the Belgian to San Siro.
Lukaku has now suggested that an announcement on his future is imminent posting a picture of himself with his agent with a cryptic message.


Batshuayi set for Chelsea stay

Michy Batshuayi is set to stay at Chelsea this season and battle it out with Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud for a starting spot as Frank Lampard’s main striker.
Chelsea have appealed their transfer ban for the upcoming window but haven’t moved to secure provisional measures, which would have frozen the ban for this summer’s transfer window.
Instead, they have looked within their own talent pool and retained the services of Batshuayi and Abraham, who were on loan last season at Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, respectively.


Arsenal directors refute £40m budget claims

Arsenal’s managing director Vinai Venkatesham has refuted claims that the club only have £40 million ($50m) to spend this summer, while head of football Raul Sanllehi is expecting further movement before the window slams shut.
Venkatesham told a supporters’ club Q&A: “I don’t recognise this £40m figure, I have read it a lot. That doesn’t come from us, that doesn’t come from the club. The numbers never come from us.”
