Kwara NUJ Election: C’ttee issues deadline for delegates’ list submission

 

Electoral Committee of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State council has urged all chapels in the state to submit the list of their delegates who will vote in July 4th election.

A statement signed by the Secretary of the committee, Barrister Mashood Zarumi, said the delegates’ list is expected to be submitted on or before tomorrow, Tuesday, June 26, 2018.

The statement explained that it is important for members and chapel leaders to note that payment of check off due and professional fee/online registration is prerequisite for accreditation of all the delegates who will vote in the election.

The committee advised chapel leaders to ensure that they attach necessary documents which would indicate that delegates from their chapels are qualified NUJ members and in good financial standing.

Meanwhile, the campaign period has been extended to 3rd July, 2018 following the reschedule of election date from June 25th to July 4th, 2018.

The committee solicited for the support and cooperation of all members towards conducting free, fair and acceptable election.

Vying for position of the NUJ Chairman is Babatunde Jimba (Kwara TV) and Umar Abdulwahab (Correspondent Chapel).

Meanwhile, Abubakar Mustapha (Vice Chairman), Omotayo Ayanda (Secretary), Mahmood Olayinka (Assistant Secretary), Babatunde Isiaka (Treasurer), Fadeyi Adeolu (Financial Secretary) and Ahmed Lateef (Auditor) are sole candidates and are hereby returned unopposed.
