The 2019 summer transfer window has closed with some surprise moves across European clubs.
Nigerian players were not to be left out of the September 2 transfer deadline day in Europe.
Here are top 5 Super Eagles’ players and propespects who switched club allegiance at the last minutes of transfer.
Kelechi Nwakali: Arsenal announced the deal of Kelechi Nwakali, 21, joining Spanish Segunda Division side, SD Huesca, on a permanent deal on Monday, September 2.
The Nigeria international has ended his three-year stay with the Gunners to team up with the Spanish side.
Nwakali failed to feature for the London-based club throughout his three-year stay and had to make do with loan spells at MVV Maastricht, VVV-Venlo and Porto B.
“He joined us in 2016 after captaining his country at the 2015 Under-17 World Cup, where he won the Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player.” Arsenal wrote on it’s website.
“We would like to wish Kelechi all the best for the future.” It added.
Huesca were relegated to the second-tier of the Spanish League last season after finishing in 19th spot on the table.
They will hope the acquisition of the midfielder will help them return to the top-flight at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
Uche Agbo: The defensive midfielder joined Portuguese outfit, SC Braga, from Belgian club, Standard Liege on a one-year deal.
He has now re-joined his former manager at Standard Liege, Ricardo Sa Pinto at the Portuguese club.
Agbo who is still very young has experience playing in Spain for Granada and is expected to settle well in his second spell.
He is expected to help Rayo Vallecano in their fight to escape the drop to the lower division as they are currently in 17th a place ahead of the three bottom relegation zones.
Agbo who was dropped by Gernot Rohr for the Super Eagles team to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia will hope to re-establish himself and play regular football at Rayo Vallecano.
Agbo sealed the move on deadline day and the club has and an option for a permanent deal at the end of the loan deal.
Nnamdi Ofoborh: On transfer deadline day, Wycombe Wanderers announced the signing of 19-year-old Nigerian midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh from Premier League side AFC Bournemouth.
Ofoborh joined the League One outfit on a season-long loan.
