Adewole Elites forum gets new Exco
The Adewole Elites Movement (ADEM), on Sunday reiterated its resolve to the educational development and communal peace and harmony of its members.
This was made known by the outgoing president of the movement, Alhaji Abdullahi Otukoko during the swearing-in ceremony of new executives members of ADEM held at Adewole Multipurpose Hall Adeta Ilorin.
According to him, men are not greater by virtue of their wealth but by what they have in plans for future development of the people and environment.
Otukoko further stated said champions are not those who never fail, but rather those who never quit, pointing out that every man is limited by the knowledge, strength and principle upon which they build their life.
Also speaking, another former President of the movement, Alhaji Abdulfatai Bello recalled that the movement was formed by concerned elites in the community about three decades ago.
He said the aims and objectives of the founders was to provide platform to bring together youths for community development, explaining that the movement is deeply rooted in trust, honest, dedication and selfless service to the community.
He further disclosed that the first meeting of the movement was held on 12th April, 1992 with a large turnout of numbers, recalling that a caretaker committee was set up with Mr. Isiaq Onimagesin as pioneer caretaker chairman.
He appreciated members for their work in training thousands of both primary and secondary schools students who have been useful to the community.
In his address, the Commissioner 1, Kwara State Civil Service Commission, Alhaj Isiaka Adisa Olorundare maintained that Adewole Elites’ Movement has come of age, emphasising that many students who would ordinarily have been wayward have turned useful people in the society by the intervention of the movement. He commended the outgoing executives for their positive and selfless service to the entire community.
In his sermon, Ustaz Sulyman Idris Omodele described the present Alangua Adewole, Alhaji Hanafi Hussein as one of the luckiest traditional rulers in Kwara state.
He pointed out that during his reign; Adewole ward has produced the State Governor and commissioner 1 in the state civil service.
He prayed that more of juicy political appointments will come to the community henceforth and charged the new members to be upright in their dealings for the development of the community.
Omodele advised them to work as team and desist from partisan politics for them to remain United for rapid development of the society.
In his acceptance speech, the new ADEM President, Mr. Abdulraufu Amuda Olaomi on behalf of others executive members promised to do everything within their capability to move the association to the greater heights.
He also vowed to maintain unity and cohesion among Adewole community and it’s environs, calling for constructive advice from the general public to move the community forward.
“We are all human being, a mistake may occur during the course of performing our duties, please do not abandon us”, he appealed.
Present at the ceremony are the Alangua of Adewole, Alhaji Hanafi Hussein, chairman, Isale-Jagun Community Development Association, Alhaji Ibrahim Busari, Alhaji Ibrahim Ayinde Agbobamu, Alhaji Sulyman Olowojare, Alhaji Abdulfatai Olobi, Coordinator NHIS, North Central Zone, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Onimajesin and Director of Public Defence, Kwara State Ministry of Justice, Barrister Like Grillo.
Others include Hajia Afusat Kazum, Barrister Shehu Magaji, Alhaji Salman Abdulrahman Esinrogunjo, Barrister Abdulmalik Abdulrahman, Dr. Abdulateef Salman Olugbob, Alhaji Abdulateef Ogele, Mr. Mashood Garba, Dr. Aliru Olajide Mustapha Olojoku among others.
