MATCH PREVIEW: Chelsea Vs Liverpool: Another tough test for Blues

Chelsea host the league leaders at Stamford Bridge in what should be a
firecracker of a game. The two met just over a month ago in the UEFA
Super Cup final, drawing 2-2 before Liverpool eked out a win on
penalties.
This clash of footballing behemoths is not one to be missed as both
outfits are in fine scoring form, though don’t be shocked if one side
keeps a clean sheet; Virgil Van Dijk is around.
Chelsea will be buoyant in the build-up to this game knowing that
their reliance on youngsters can be fruitful. Tammy Abraham was the
hat-trick hero as Frank Lampard’s youthful outfit romped to a 5-2
victory at Molineux last weekend.
Lampard will feel that his trust in a new generation has been
vindicated; all 11 of Chelsea’s Premier League goals this season have
been scored by Chelsea academy graduates. However, as dreamy as this
might be, the concern is that the Blues could become too reliant on
Tammy Abraham and his pals.
Chelsea have had three different goal scorers in the league this
season. Liverpool have had six. With Hazard now playing somewhere in
Madrid, Giroud moving slower than the loser in a veteran’s sack race,
and Pedro, Pulisic, Willian and Barkley being swapped around every
time they dare to blink, it’s not guaranteed that Chelsea have a
consistent goal threat beyond Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount… unless
Frank Lampard subs himself on.
It’s needless to say that Liverpool have started the season strongly.
Five wins from five with an average of three goals per game is rather
impressive. Mané and Salah seemed to be singing from the same hymn
sheet again against Newcastle, though it was Roberto Firmino who stole
the show, providing two assists off the bench to secure Liverpool a
3-1 home victory.
What Jürgen Klopp will be looking for against Chelsea is more
awareness at the back. Though they have only conceded four league
goals this season, which gives them the joint-best defensive record,
Liverpool’s pressing style often sees the entire defence shift towards
the side of the pitch that the ball is on, leaving substantial spaces
on the far side for a cross-field ball to exploit.
The fact that Liverpool have only kept one clean sheet this season
suggests that, as domineering as they are, they do have a weakness.
Moreover, Adrian is no Alisson between the sticks.
Leicester City Vs Tottenham: Leicester City and Tottenham face each
other at King Power Stadium on Matchday 6 in what is expected to be
one of the most exciting games of Saturday’s program. The Foxes aim to
make amends for a 1-0 loss to Manchester United, whilst Spurs want to
build on a thrilling 4-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Jamie Vardy has been in a fine form at the start of the season,
meaning that the opposition defenders should have the experienced
attacker at bay.
Leicester City are tough to beat at home and that is the main reason
why we predict that they are going to grab something from Saturday’s
football match. The capital club aim to stay in the race for the
title, but seeing that they have yet to record a win on the road in
the 2019/2020 season.
Man City Vs Watford: Manchester City will be aiming to make amends for
an embarrassing 3-2 loss to Norwich City when they host Watford at
their Etihad Stadium.
The Citizens are already five points behind league leaders Liverpool
in the Premier League standings, meaning that they face a must-win
situation in Saturday’s football game.
Kevin de Bruyne is likely to return to the starting XI and seeing
coach Pep Guardiola can count on key players Raheem Sterling and Kun
Aguero for the match, anything but a routine home win will be a major
surprise.
The Hornets came from two goals behind to share the spoils with
Arsenal at home in their last league match, but seeing that they are
not regarded as good travelers, we believe that the visitors are going
to return home empty-handed.
A man to watch in the away team will be Pereyra, who impressed in the
2-2 draw with Arsenal.
Westerham Vs Man Utd: Sunday’s football game at London Stadium pits
together West Ham United and Manchester United. The Hammers did well
to beat Norwich City 2-0 in their last home game in the national
championship, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead
of the visit of Manchester United.
A man to watch in the home team will be summer signing Sebastien
Haller, who has already found his goal-scoring touch.
Arsenal Vs Aston Villa: After dropping a two-goal advantage in a 2-2
draw with Watford, Arsenal will be looking to return to winning ways
in the Premier League when they host Aston Villa at their Emirates
Stadium.
The Gunners experienced all sorts of problems at the back in their
last league match, but they are still seen as hot favourites to pick
up all three points from Sunday’s football game.
Unai Emery’s troops are likely to stick to their attacking style of
play against the newcomers and seeing that they are a real force to be
reckoned with at home, we believe that there is a big value in betting
on the capital club.
The Villans are tough to beat at home, but they are not capable of
matching top-table sides on the road. In their last meeting at
Emirates Stadium Arsenal recorded a 4-0 win over Aston Villa.
