Cattle Incursion: Ilorin Airport solicits stakeholders’ intervention

In its bid to curb incessant cattle incursion at the llorin
lnternational Airport runway, the Airport Manager, Alhaji Ibrahim
AbdulAzeez has called for stakeholders’ intervention.
The airport manager stated this during a chat with this medium in
Ilorin, on Friday.
He said, “We have had several meetings and put up measuresย to prevent
further incursion of unauthorised persons and animals into the airport
perimeter and operational areas.
“However, we discovered that herdsmen have continued to vandalise the
perimeter fence even afterย replacementsย in order to have access into
the airport runway.
“We are appealing to the various stakeholders to collaborate with us
in ensuring that these herdsmen stop this illegal act.”
He revealed that the airport management had set up monitoring
committee comprising all stakeholders to end all illegal activities at
the Airport.
AbdulAzeez solicited the support and cooperation of stakeholders and
residents within the vicinity of the Airport towards ensuring safety
of facilities and passengers.
