Lawmaker empowers constituent, promises more dividends of democracy

 

No fewer than thirty indigents students from the eleven wards across
the lsin Local Government Area of Kwara State including a Master
degree students at the weekend were beneficiaries of bursary programme
donated by the member representing the constituency at the Kwara State
House of Assembly,Hon Olumide Awolola.
The gesture which runs into hundreds of thousands was provided000 was
awarded to assist them in their education pursuit.
Each of the beneficiaries selected from various Secondary Schools
across the wards in Isin received various sums of money while the only
Master degree student was given N30,000.
Presenting the bursary awards to the beneficiaries at lwo-lsin,
Awolola said the gesture was borne out of the need to build future
leaders.
He charged them to utilise the gesture to solve their immediate needs
in the pursuit of their career.
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former chairman
of the PDP, Chief lyiola Oyedepo, in his remarks described the award
to the beneficiaries as a bold step towards boosting students and
pupils enrollment at the grassroots.
Oyedepo identified Hon Awolola as a right choice to the people Isin in
view of his numerous contributions to his constituency.
The APC chairman, Isin Local Government, Chief Dele Ogunbayo lauded
the lawmaker for his wisdom in responding to the needs of the
downtrodden.
The Education Secretary, Isin Local Government Council, Mr Olalere
Balogun, on behalf of parents and teachers of the beneficiaries
appreciated the legislator for prioritising education
The event was attended by several eminent personalities from the State
and the constituency.
