A Non Governmental Organisation, Merimond Consulting is partnering
with Kwara Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) and Lubcon Company for the
first Auto Fair in Kwara state.
The 3-day fair is expected come up between 25th to 28, September,
2019 at the state Stadium complex.
The Director of the consulting firm, Mr. Olufemi Raymond Oguntokun
made the disclosure during the presentation of the Kwara Auto Fair
2019 branded T-shirt sponsor, Lubcon on Tuesday.
He said “the firm is into series of consulting services to the public
and one of our departments organises trade fair. We discovered that
there is a gap between buyers and sellers of automobiles so we
conceptualize the idea of coming up with the first Kwara Auto Fair to
bridge that gap among the motors dealers, spare parts seekers and
buyers.
“We are inviting various stakeholders and associations to come and
showcase their products during the fair as we are giving price
discount to boost economic activities in the state.
“It is going to be exhibition for new, old and fairly used automobile
products for vehicles and tricycle.
The director stressed that the partnership with Lubcon, Kwara
Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS), Pepsi company among others is
targeted towards enhancing business activities in the state.
He said “there is no way you can run an engine without a lubricant,
Lubcon as an indigenous oil company will be there to showcase its
products to the participants. We believe there will be buyers of
vehicles and people will need to change and buy fuel.
“We also partnering with KWIRS to boost Internally Generated Revenue
for the state and to encourage entrepreneurship.
“From our projection, we’re expecting close to 200 exhibitors and
about 2000 participants at the fair.
In his remarks, the Managing Director of Lubcon, Mr. Taiye Williams
lauded the NGO for the vision of pioneering the auto fair.
He said, “It is a welcome development and every engine needs lubricant
to operate effectively and we have accepted to sponsor the fair to
enhance business activities in the state.
“We have been operating in Kwara since 1991 as the official blender
to Yahama (Chinese company) among other companies.
The MD noted that the geographical location of Kwara makes it viable
for economic activities.
