Cleric tasks Muslim on 5 daily prayers

By Ahmed Ajikobi
An Imam of Government Day Secondary School (GDSS)m Adewole, Ilorin,
Kwara State, Ustaz Yahaya Isiaka has tasked Muslims to be steadfast in
the observance of their five daily prayers as scheduled, adding that
Solat increases their faith with Almighty Allah and strengthen Islamic
beliefs.
Isiaka stressed this while delivering his sermon (Khutba) at the
weekend during the Juma’at service and further noted that God told the
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to be mindful of the glorious Qur’an and
regularly embark on solat.
According to the Islamic cleric who was a guest during the religious
service, Solat teaches us how to be with God and follow His will. He
further urged Muslims to reflect godliness in their everyday
activities irrespective of their faiths.
“Muslims should always tell truth in all circumstances because that
will build the people’s trust in them.
“Almighty Allah commands all mankind to fear Him, follow injunction of
the Qur’an and be truthful. But unfortunately, lies have taken over
our lives. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) urged all Muslims to stand on
truth always and members of public should shun lies because it can
lead them astray”.
While emphasising on solat, the Imam said that the five daily prayers
teaches believers to always respect their covenant with people and
avoid cheating on others but strive to do justice and equality among
themselves.
“When people give us things to keep, when it’s time for the person to
collect whatever items kept with you, return it the way it was given
to you.
“Everyone praying for paradise but one of the ways to attain the
ticket is to do away with cheating others”, he added.
Quoting copiously from the Holy Qur’an and traditions of the Prophet
(SAW), the cleric noted that praying for Aljanat firdaous entails also
working to achieve it by rendering several meritorious deeds and good
works.
“If you pray five times daily and there is no fear of Allah in you.
God will not answer your prayers.
“Amana is the character that helped all the messengers of Allah and
the only man of God is the person that fears Allah openly and
secretly.
