Spurs Vs Chelsea: Can Mourinho get joy against former club?

Tottenham Hotspur play host to Chelsea  Sunday afternoon looking to move level on points with their London rivals in the Premier League table.
As a result of their 2-1 victory at Wolverhampton Wandererst at the weekend, Spurs sit just three points adrift of the fourth-placed Blues.
Jose Mourinho- a two-time manager of Chelsea – will now hope that he can extend his early record at the North Londoners to six victories from eight outings.
Thanks to Jan Vertonghen’s late goal Tottenham defeated Wolverhampton at Molineux Stadium last weekend. Spurs have already recorded four Premier League wins under new boss Mourinho, who is on the right track to help the capital club regain their spot in top four. Tottenham footballers are high on spirit ahead of the local derby, and they aim to take advantage of the fact that Chelsea suffered a dip in form.
As always, Harry Kane will lead the line for the hosts, but the opposition defenders should have Korea international Son at bay as well. Following a 3-1 loss at Everton, the Blues suffered yet another shocking defeat at the weekend.
Spurs picked up valuable three points on Sunday in the Premier League.Their win over Wolves cuold prove crucial for their chances of a top four finish this season, with rivals also dropping points elsewhere.
Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Everton on Sunday, while Chelsea suffered yet another defeat as Bournemouth ran out 1-0 winners at Stamford Bridge.
Spurs’ win over Wolves means that a win will send them up into the Champions League places on goal difference – a situation that seemed unlikely when the Portuguese manager took over a month ago.But who will be available to Mourinho against his former club?
Hugo Lloris ,Tottenham captain is currently sidelined with an elbow injury and is not expected back until the new year. The Frenchman sustained a dislocated elbow in the 3-0 defeat against Brighton at the Amex Stadium, with Lloris landing awkwardly on his left arm and was in agony inside his own goal.
He was given oxygen on the pitch, before being stretchered off and taken to hospital. Spurs have since revealed that the club captain has undergone surgery on his injured left elbow.
Erik Lamela, the Argentine has not featured for Spurs since the 5-0 home win against Red Star Belgrade in October. A hamstring injury picked up in training at Hotspur Way caused him to miss the 2-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield a few days later.
It was hoped that the international break would give him time to recover. But he missed both games for Argentina as well as wins over the Hammers and Olympiacos, and wasn’t in the squad for the win over the Cherries.
Frank Lampard could be without several key members of his squad ahead of the crunch game against former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham side on Sunday.
Chelsea have now won just one Premier League game since the November international break. A 1-0 Premier League loss against Bournemouth on Saturday was the Blues’ fourth defeat in five league games.
The hosts were unable to break down a solid Cherries’ defence, and Dan Gosling’s late effort, which was awarded after a VAR check, was enough to give Eddie Howe’s side all three points. But what are the chances that Lampard has a fully fit squad available to him?
Ross Barkley has not featured since the 1-0 win against Newcastle United in October after picking up an ankle injury.
The England international was initially called up to Gareth Southgate’s squad for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Montenegro and Kosovo last month.Barkley was not involved against Aston Villa last week night after Frank Lampard revealed the midfielder was ill.
Loftus-Cheek, was establishing himself as a key member of Maurizio Sarri’s squad at the end of last season.
However, in the post-season friendly ahead of the Europa League final, Loftus-Cheek suffered the same injury as Hudson-Odoi as he ruptured his Achilles’ tendon.
Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman rolled an ankle in training last week, causing him to miss Chelsea’s 3-1 defeat away to Everton penultimate  Saturday afternoon and the Champions League Group H decider against Lille. The 33-year-old did return to training ahead of the game against the Cherries, but wasn’t included in the matchday squad and he might not feature for the Blues again.
