Atere emerges Chairman of NUJ Information Chapel

 

The Kwara State Ministry of Information Chapel of the Nigeria Union of
Journalists (NUJ), has inaugurated Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Atere as its new
Chairman.
According to a statement by Mallam Adamu Muhammed, the former
secretary of the Chapel, Alhaji Atere and his executives would pilot
the affairs of the Chapel for the next three years.
Presenting his acceptance speech at the just concluded election held
at the state Ministry of Information, Ilorin, the new Chairman
promised to run an open door policy.
Atere while thanking all members of the NUJ Information Chapel for
electing him the Chairman of the Chapel for the second term, promised
to do everything within his reach to improve on the quality of members
welfare and other challenges faced by the Chapel and members.
He however solicited for the support and cooperation of all members of
the Chapel, saying such support will help in taking the union to
greater heights.
He also appreciated members of the Chapel for their support during his
first tenure in office as Chairman.
The inauguration ceremony was witnessed by the Chairman of the Chapel
Election Credential Committee, Alhaji Abdulfatah Adeniyi (Dan Kazeem)
Kwara State Chairman of the NUJ, Mallam Umar Abdulwahab and the NUJ
Secretary, Iyanda Tayo and members of the Chapel.
In his remarks, the NUJ Chairman, congratulated all the new executive
members of the Chapel even as he charged them not to betray the
confidence reposed in them.
Other elected members of the Chapel are; Vice Chairman, Mrs Oganija
Munirat, Saliu Muhammed as Secretary and Yusuf Abdulrazaq as Financial
Secretary.
Others include; Abdulganiyu Bukola (Treasurer), Bukoye Gbolahan
(Assistant Secretary) and Oyewole Gbemisola as Auditor.
