Leaked Audio: Sen Bisi Oyewo, Wole-Oke, APC chieftains attack Iliasu over comment on occultic activities

Some top chieftains of the Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives
Congress (APC), last night, pushed back the allegation of Hon Ibrahim
Iliasu over his comment accusing them of running a secret and occultic
organisation as members of the Support Group of Governor Abdulrahman
Abdulrazaq.
Iliasu, in a leaked audio that went viral last week, accused 18
chieftains of the party under the aegis of Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq
Progressives (AAP) with members across the three senatorial districts
of the state of being responsible for the larger part of APC’s
protracted leadership crisis.
He further claimed that AAP is full of political paperweights who
could not deliver their wards and local governments but planned to
hijack the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq Support Group (AASG) which he
created to support the programmes and activities of the Governor.
The audio coming a little over a month after a similar one by Iliasu
was also leaked, provided a rare glimpse and fresh insight into the
deep acrimony and petty rivalry that has characterised the political
camp of Governor Abdulrazaq.
But some APC leaders who spoke on the issue, last night, attacked Hon
Iliasu over his comments.
Former Kwara South Senator, Bisi Oyewo told National Pilot in a
telephone chat that, “not all psychiatric disorders are admitted in
the hospital adding that Hon Iliasu is an erratic individual.
He said “Well, I don’t have to respond to Iliasu. You know not all
psychiatric disorders are admitted in the hospital. On the basis of
that, his antics are known to almost everybody and he has fought
almost all those that matters within the AA group. The only person he
has not fought directly is the Governor.
“The building he is occupying where he holds his Moro meeting was
rented and paid for by me with over N3m. I ask him to quit after
Buhari’s election that I want to use it for other AAP innovation
centre. I bought a key and chain to lock it up and I told His
Excellency, but the best answer I got is silence which means a lot to
me. I am too old to fight him. He has fought Sunday Fagbemi, Kunle
Suleiman, Sen Ahmed Mohammed, Sen Oyewo and almost everybody,” he
noted.
Asked whether the allegations were true, Oyewo said, “How can he be
correct when I was appointed by the Presidency for the whole North
Central states including Abuja, I spent close to N5m on my own for
Buhari’s re-election bid, when I was appointed by Governor Abdulrahman
as the leader of Oyun, when all the elders we have met have not talked
good of him, when he was somehow impeached from the state House of
Assembly. He is an erratic somebody, quote me, he has abused me and I
am responding that not all disorders are admitted in the hospitals”,
Oyewo submitted.
On his part, Elder Wole Oke, who hails from the same Kwara North
senatorial district as Hon Iliasu said it would be politically
belittling and demeaning to honour his fellow kinsman with a response.
“As far as I am concern, I have no issue with Iliasu. All I can say is
that let him go ahead with his political dealings, that is not my
business. Joining issues with him will mean belittling myself in
politics and I don’t want to demean myself politically because I know
what I am saying,” he added.
But another chieftain of the party who was also a victim of Hon
Iliasu’s vituperations against the party chieftains said it would
amount to dancing in the open market with a mentally deranged
honouring Iliasu with a response.
“The scenario is like someone pursuing a madman who took his cloth;
you know the two of them will be judged as being mad. Silence is just
his best bet. Somebody that is disparaging everybody, surely he has
problem and if we are tolerating him, we are just managing him. I am
not going to gratify him with any reaction and at this point, silence
is golden. He is just looking for someone to drag into the mud.
“He has been abusing people that have been senators in this Kwara
State, is senator a mean position. In the group that he is disparaging
of which he may not know, the SSG, Speaker are members and even the
House leader. And when did Iliasu came on board if I may ask? Somebody
that betrayed us during the PDP days, we have his dossier but some of
us have been prevailing on party leaders to tolerate him just for the
party and state to move forward”, the source added.
