10-man Lobi Stars pips Kwara Utd 1 nil in a hard fought away win

The top three sides in the Nigeria Professional League (NPFL), Lobi Stars of Makurdi yesterday edged Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin to a 1-0 win.
The match which was matchday 22 of the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) was plaid at the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin under intensive home spectators.

Speaking after the match, Kwara United assistant Coach, Ashfat Sulaiman acknowleded that his boys played well, but they got punished for failure to convert their chances into a goal.
“We put in our best, but we had many opportunities that were not promptly utilized.
“We will continue to look at our before the next match and we will deal with it appropriately.”
He did however alluded to fact that the main problem his side had yesterday was their failure to utilize their scoring chances.
Elsewhere, log leaders Plateau United edged out hard fighting Jigawa Golden Stars 2-1 at the new Jos Stadium. Oche Ochewoechi and Tosin Omoyele scored twice to give Plateau a commanding lead in the first half, while Saleh Ibrahim reduced the deficit for the visitors in stoppage time.
Second placed Rivers United recorded a 2-0 away win against Heaetland at the Okigwe Township Stadium. Malachi Ohawume scored both goals for the visitors.
Former champions, Enugu Rangers eased their relegation worries with a 2-0 win against Adamawa United at the Nnambi Azikwe Stadium.
Isaac Loute opened scoring for the hosts late in the first half, while Isreal Abia netted the second from the spot in the 61st minute.
At the Sanni Abacha Stadium, Auwalu Ali and Usman Babalola were on target in the first half as Kano Pillars defeated Dakkada 2-0.
