Kwara United Football Club has dedicated the hard earned victory over Wikki Tourists of Bauchi yesterday, to injured Abdulsalam Abdulsalam, who was injured in the very first minute of the crucial encounter, at the Main-Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
Abdulsalam had a fracture immediately the Week 24 NPFL game commences, when taking on Wikki Tourists defender, and would definitely miss the rest of the season.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he has been stabilised, and undergoing treatment.
But his colleagues rose to the occasion, especially on the backdrop of the spate of bad results, both home and away, to return the team to winning ways, against all odds.
Midfielder Ufere Chinedu nodded home from a well taken corner kick in the 77th minute, to send the packed stadium into wide jubilation.
The management, who led the players and staffers of the team to the General Hospital to check on injured Abdulsalam, pledged to do everything possible, to ensure the players gets the right care that will bring him back to the field in the very short period of time.
They assured him of total support throughout his recuperating period, as they also dedicated the victory to him.
The injured player surprised everybody that were with him, as, despite the pain he was going through during the initial treatment, he was curious about the result of the match.
Players and officials of Wikki Tourists also paid a solidarity visit to the player at the Hospital, wishing him quick recovery.
Kwara United will take the winning spirit to Jos, where they will take on Plateau United in their next game on Wednesday.
