Fidau for Lawal holds in Ilorin

The Fidau for late Alhaji AbdulKareem Akanbi Lawal has been held in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital on Tuesday.
He died last Friday in Ilorin following a brief illness at his Baboko residence at the age of 100 years.
He was survived by many children, family members and relatives who massed at the venue of the programme held at Asileke compound, Adabata area, Alanamu in Ilorin West Local Government Area that was also attended by other friends and Islamic scholars in the state.
The programme which commenced by 11:00am featured prayers to seek Almighty Allah’s forgiveness for the late cleric.
In his sermon during the programme, National Missioner of Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, Sheikh Mumini Ayara said the gathering was a fulfillment of the good intention and meritorious works of the deceased which cut across family ties and advised the people to emulate the life and times of their late father.
He advised the children and family of the deceased to unite and continue the legacies of the deceased who was famous for his religious exploit while alive.
He warned the family against actions and acts that could promote disunity and satanic tendencies among them adding that the deceased prayed to die on a Friday which was answered by almighty Allah.
Late Lawal had initially experienced coma for 5days before he regained consciousness and lived for additional 5 days before his death last Friday.
