Lagos evacuates COVID-19 patient to U.S.
Twelve new cases of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have been reported in Nigeria, as Lagos State Government reveals that one of the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the State, who is an American citizen has been evacuated to the U.S.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed the 12 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the country to 151 as at 12:30 pm on 1st April.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Government confirmed evacuation of the American COVID-19 patient, while confirming that the State recorded a new case of COVID-19 on Tuesday.
While the Lagos State Government did not release any details about the American COVID-19 patient evacuated, it however, confirmed that the total COVID-19 cases in the State are now 82, and that 8 patients have so far been discharged following their full recovery.
When the NCDC announced the new 12 cases of COVID-19, no new cases were reported for Lagos State. However, 9 new cases were reported for Osun State, spiking the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the State to 14. Edo added 2 new cases, while Ekiti added one.
As at 12:30 pm 1st April, there are now 151 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, with 9 discharged after full recovery, 2 death cases.
Currently, Lagos has 82 confirmed COVID-19 cases; FCT – 28; Osun- 14, Oyo- 8, Ogun- 4, Edo- 4, Kaduna- 3, Enugu- 2, Bauchi- 2, Ekiti- 2, Rivers-1, and Benue- 1.
