Covid-19: Alleged sponsored protest diversionary tactics of Gov Abdulrahman
โฆ cover-up for gross ineptitude, cluelessness to governance

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has come under attack following allegation that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the leadership of the former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki was behind a protest to incite Kwaran citizens against the government over its poor handling of the Covid-19 pandemic in the state.
According to an unsigned statement believed to have been sponsored by loyalists of the government, the release accused the opposition party and some members of the immediate past government of been behind an alleged protest against the lockdown order in the state citing economic hardship.
The statement further said the protesting โwomenโ were cajoled into the act that could have thwarted the efforts of the government towards containing the spread of the pandemic.
โOne of the protesters Balikis Abdullahi who said she stays in Omoda in the city centre revealed they were handed a sum of one thousand (#1000) each to cook up the protest by Nike Owotunmishe a former SA to ex-Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed. She regrettably admitted wrongdoing and pleaded for pardon, assuring the authorities never to participate in any of such gatherings again.
The other culprits who were recruited by Larape Jimoh from different parts of the Ilorin also pleaded after disclosing that they were gathered to sabotage the efforts of the government.
โThe protesters also revealed that the Kwara opposition (PDP) in conjunction with some stakeholders within the ruling party in the state have paid several people and groups to lead protest in coming days against the government as they suspect Bukola Saraki has also released funds to destabilize the peace of the state as they believe that is the only way to take the masses eyes away from the ongoing good works of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq since fake news and propaganda is not yielding expected results against his administrationโ, it added.
But in a reply to the statement, a member of the opposition party, Moshood Eleranegbe dismissed the statement describing it as โdirty tactics aimed at shifting public attention from the gross ineptitude and lack of technical know-how of the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led APC government whose ship is already wobbling out of the control of its clueless captainโฆโ.
Eleranegbe while noting that the false story was the handiwork of โsome e-rats working with the Kwara State Government to create a false impression that members of the opposition PDP and particularly its leader, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki and former Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed are behind some the โso-called but fake sponsored protests against the State government lockdown directives to contain the spread of ravaging coronavirus in the state.
While exonerating the PDP under the leadership of Dr Bukola Saraki, the PDP stalwart said the former Senate President led opposition PDP in its various press releases and public communication has maintained over time, it’s zero tolerance for violence and undemocratic tendencies, and as such can never be involved in such sponsored protest against an incompetent government that has failed to deliver on good governance, fairness, equity and above all financial transparency.
The statement reads in parts:
โOur attention has been drawn to yet another mind-blowing, false story written by some e-rats working with the Kwara State Government where they are trying to create a false impression that members of the opposition PDP and particularly its leader, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki and former Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed are behind some a so-called but fake sponsored protests against the State government lockdown directives to contain the spread of ravaging Coronavirus in the state.
โWhile we believe this is a dirty tactic aimed at shifting public attention from the gross ineptitude and lack of technical know-how of the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led APC government whose ship is already wobbling out of the control of its clueless captain, it’s good we react so that this incompetent government would not think citizens can still be easily fooled by their unintelligent and petty propaganda
โAfter failing to initiate a coordinated, responsible and thoughtful response to the outbreak of Covid-19 in the state, the Kwara State government is looking for distraction and diversionary tactics. It will not work. Kwarans are no fools. They are smart and have seen through the cluelessness of a vindictive administration made up of minions.
โWe sympathise with the Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye who has to justify his fat pay so as to save himself from the thunderous wrath of his Almighty principal, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. That is why he is resorting to fiction and creating fictitious characters to tell a story that is illogical and nonsensical. It is a pity because even his story is disjointed and the characters in his story do not exist.
โThe names listed out in the cooked story are not only fictitious, the faceless authors and their sponsors are also unintelligent and dumb by cooking such illogical story to make it look to their principal that they are really working.
โMr. CPS should therefore get busy thinking for his boss and his team. That is if he himself has the head for positive and critical thinking.
โAbdulrahman Abdulrazaq should stop behaving like a man bedevilled by self-inflicted problems who drank himself to stupor and went to sleep thinking his problems would go away while he is in deep slumber. When he wakes up, his perennial problems will wake up with him and confront him more ferociously.
โThe people’s Democratic party under the Leadership of Dr Bukola Saraki in its various press releases and public communication has maintained over time, it’s zero tolerance for violence and undemocratic tendencies, and as such can never be involved in such sponsored protest against an incompetent government that has failed to deliver on good governance, fairness, equity and above all financial transparency.
โWe challenge the faceless authors of the recent falsehood and their sponsors to come forward and lead the mentioned individuals before the security agencies and the court of law if they are confident that they have a genuine story.
โWe also wish to state clearly that former Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed will not descend so low to sponsor a fictitious protest. Also the database of his political appointees and aides are in the open and public knowledge as well. The names mentioned in that misinformation do not exist thereโ.
