COVID-19: Adewole community commends KWSG over palliatives

The Kwara State Government has been commended for the food items donated as palliative to vulnerables in Adewole ward of Ilorin West Local Government Area, to chusion the effect of stay- at -home order of the state government.
The commendation was made by the President of Adewole Progressive Association (APA), Mr. Abdulrahman Salman during the distribution of food items to beneficiaries at Third Estate Skills acquisition centre, Adeta, Ilorin on Friday.
He said the governor from his personal purse donated the food items to the less privileged old women in the ward, disclosing that the governor intended to reach out to the most vulnerable poeple who cannot afford three square meals in his immidiate constituency.
He praised the state Governor for deeming it fit to assist aged people and taxi drivers due to effect of the lockdown on their economic lives.
Speaking with newsmen after the programme, the Secretary of the association, Mr. Raheem Rafiu Arikewuyo said Governor’s Abdulrazaq palliative came at right time when the people especially the old people in the community were crying for food.
He noted that most bread winner have turned into beggars due to the lockdown, , saying that people were happy to receive the food items presented to them.
Arikewuyo who is also the chairman of palliative committee, said that the governor had proved to the whole world that he is a “bonafide son of Adewole,” thanking the governor for the palliative intiative.
He pledged total supports of the association towards the governor’s success in office, stating that over 3,000 bags of Semovita and rice were distributed among widows, widowers and aged people in the 18 political zones of the ward.
