Team Kwara has put up a brilliant performance at the ongoing Athletic Youth Championship holding in Ilaro, Ogun State.
The team has so far clinched 12 medals in the sporting event.
Coach Abiodun Adeyemi confirmed to newsmen in Ilorin, Kwara State on Saturday that the team has so far won 5 golds, 2 silvers and 5 bronzes.
He said the boys and girls have exhibited high spirit and put up fantastic performance at the championship.
“So far, Team Kwara has won 2 Golds in 400m hurdle boys; 1 Gold in 1,500m girls; Silver in 200m boys; Bronze in 400m girls; Bronze in 4x100m relay; Bronze in Long Jump boys, Bronze in Long Jump girls and Bronze in shot put.
He, therefore, encouraged the athletes to continue in the stride, urging Kwara citizens representing other states to come back home.
He expressed appreciation to the Kwara State Athletes association for the support and encouragement towards enabling the team to participate in the championship.
