Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq on Sunday felicitated with the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi on his 35th birthday anniversary.
The governor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, commended the Speaker for sharing the same worldview of probity, prudence, accountability and service to humanity with the executive arm, while urging him to remain focused and people-centric.
The statement read: โApart from being the youngest Speaker ever in the history of Kwara State and one of the youngest ever in Nigeria, the Rt. Honourable Speaker has carried himself in the manner most befitting of the exalted office. His leadership of the House engenders unity, focus, and determination with which the lawmakers have joined hands with the executive to constantly deliver on our mandate to restore the glory of Kwara State.
โThe executive arm is proud to be working with a Speaker and his colleagues who share the same worldview of probity, prudence, accountability, service to humanity, sense of responsibility, and empathy. While urging him to remain focus and people-centric, I join the people of Kwara State, including the state executive council, to congratulate Mr. Speaker, his family, and associates on his birthday. There is no doubt that he has been a worthy representative of his constituencies as a young man and the entire people of Kwara North. I pray Allah (SWT) to grant him more wisdom, good health, and long life.โ
Similarly, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of SOBI 101.9FM, Mal. Lukman Olayiwola Mustapha, in a congratulatory message described Danladi as a worthy torchbearer and ambassador of the youth.
Mustapha added, โI met several Kwarans from all walks of life while touring the nooks and crannies of the State marketing the Rebirth ideology with special and vintage place reserved for the youth, on whose shoulders our aspiration rested squarely.
โDanladi was one of those ambitious, focused and clear headed youth, I was fortunate to meet, I was wowed by his passion for change, his deep understanding of the rot and how to change the tide, his brilliance, humility and above all integrity stood him out of the crowd immediately.
โHe has remained true to his principles of love for all, hatred for none. His leadership of an Assembly populated by relatively young parliamentarians with all except one without prior parliamentary experience been able to stabilize and unite the ship, avoiding the proverbial legislative banana pill, is a clear testament to his leadership qualities.
โAs he celebrates his 35th birthday today, I pray the Lord Almighty continues to increase him in wisdom, guard and guide him towards writing his name in gold in the annals of public service in the State and the Country.โ
Others who felicitated with the Speaker include the State Commissioner for Energy, Aliyu Kora Sabi; Special Assistant to the State Governor on Political Matters, Abdulkareem Yusuf Danhawa; Member representing Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal constituency, Hon. Tijani Ismail; and chairman House Committee on Health and Environment representing Shaare/Oke-Ode, Hon. Owolabi Razaq, among others.
