Heavy downpour on Saturday resulted in the destruction of buildings and poles in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The areas affected are Adeta, Kuntu, Agbo-oba, Adabata, Isale-jagun, Ita-ogunbo among others within the metropolis.
The rain associated with heavy wind began at about 9:30 pm and left its wake destruction in the affected areas.
Counting his loses, one of residents in Adeta community, Alhaji Ibrahim Ayinde Agbobamu confirmed that the rainstorm destroyed many houses in the area.
He called on the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) as a matter of urgency to restore power back to community, stressing that the entire community is in total darkness.
