Ajayi’s West Brom suffer premier league promotion setback after defeat at Brentford

Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi was in action for West Bromwich Albion who suffered a slight setback in their quest for automatic promotion to the Premier League, following a 1-0 loss at Brentford in Friday night’s Championship game, Completesports.com reports.
Ajayi who featured in his 37th league appearance of the season against Brentford, played for 90 minutes.
Brentford’s goal was scored by Ollie Watkins in the 16th minute.
The defeat means West Brom are winless in back-to-back games since football returned in England.
The Baggies temporarily remain top on 71 points same points as second-placed Leeds, who could claim number one spot if they beat visiting Fulham on Saturday.
This weekend games in the Championship will see seven round of fixtures left before the regular season ends.
And in the Turkish 1st Lig (second division), Shehu Abdullahi helped promotion hopefuls Bursaspor beat Adanaspor 1-0.
Abdullah made his 28th league outing this season against Adanaspor and has scored four goals so far.
He was replaced with seven minutes remaining in the game which was Bursaspor’s 30th of the campaign with four games left to play.
Tayfur Bingol’s eight minute strike was enough to secure the win for Bursaspor who took part in their second game since football resumed in Turkey.
Bursaspor are third (promotion play-off spot) on 49 points in the 18-team league table.
