RATTAWU inaugurates new exco
A new executive council of the Radio Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) in Kwara State chapter has been inaugurated.
The new executive emerged unopposed with the mandate to pilot the affairs of the Union for the next three years at an election of the union held on Tuesday at the NLC Head Office (Labour House), Ilorin.
Those inaugurated include comrade Garba Bashir from NTA Ilorin as Chairman, Comrade Muhammed Saidu Gagara of Radio Kwara, Vice Chairman, Comrade Adisa Jimoh Ramat of Harmony FM as General Secretary. Others are Comrade Natty Peter of State Art Council as PRO and Comrade Musa Muhammed, Radio Kwara as Financial Secretary. Comrade Umar Adamu of National Museum, Auditor while Comrade Ayoola of Art Council will serve as Treasurer.
Speaking at the event, the National President of RATTAWU, Comrade Garba Tsanni charged the newly elected executive to live up to expectations and justify the confidence reposed in them.
Tsanni who was represented by the National officer, Comrade Musa Abubakar Dekina explained the need for members to corporate with one another and uphold the tenet of the Union at all times.
In his acceptance speech, the new State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Garba Bashir Olanrewaju called for the total support of members towards achieving the set goals.
Also speaking, the chairman of the electoral committee, Alhaji Yusuf Alarape commended members for their patriotism and full participation in the exercise. He charged members to support the newly elected executive for the progress of the Union.
