LMC, Redstrike TV deal delights NPFL coaches, players

Coaches and players of the Nigeria Professional Football League have expressed delight at the television partnership deal between the League Management Company and Redstrike Media Nigeria.
According to a statement from the LMC on Wednesday, Redstrike Media is expected to stream weekly live matches through the leagues’ platform ‘NPTF.tv’ and create an NPFL media and Marketing Company to commercialise the league.
Reacting to the development, Plateau United head coach Abdu Maikaba said, “There won’t be a limit to the number of viewership we have now because it won’t be in Nigeria only. We will have viewers from all over the world. Before now only spectators at the stadium could watch us but now the chances have improved and now we will have more people to watch live matches.”
Heartland FC coach Fidelis Ilechukwu said, “This development will solve 50 per cent of the challenges that we are having in the league. If we have the matches streamed live, it will eliminate some of the problems we face.
Enugu Rangers midfielder Kevin Itoya and Lobi Stars goalkeeper Daniel Atsaka also applauded the move by the league body.
Itoya said, “It’s a welcome development, we have been having problems with NPFL games shown live for some years now. It’s been hindering the players because agents hardly get to watch their games. This is a welcome development because it’s going to sell the NPFL players to the world.
