North Central Forum disowns agitators for Mid-West Republic

The North Central People’s Forum (NCPF) on Monday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital dissociated itself from those agitating for the actualisation of the Mid-West Republic in the country.
Addressing newsmen, the Secretary General of NCPC, Alhaji Khaleel Bolaji said NCPF dissociates itself in totality with a recent publication in an online medium titled ‘Middle Belt releases country’s flag, currency and coat of arms, names it Midwest Republic.”
According to him, the NCPF is an association of the states in the North Central Nigeria: Kwara, Kogi, Niger, Benue, Plateau and Nasarawa, including FCT Abuja respectively.
“NCPF is united to have a structure to negotiate for political power just like Afenifere in the South West, South-South People’s Assembly, Ohaneze Ndigbo in the Southeast among others.
“The NCPF acknowledges the concept of Middle-Belt as an association without a defined geopolitical boundary. It is no longer news that the country has six geopolitical zones in which the North Central is one and people’s forum stands for it”,
NCPF scribe while noting the serious security challenges in the country said that the forum is irrevocably committed to one united Nigeria.
“NCPF subscribes to one Nigeria as a valuable unit in the six geopolitical zones in the country.
“The people of the North Central distance the zone from the said publication that can cause threat to the unity and coexistence of Nigeria, especially during the prevailing security challenges in the country,” he Noted.
