Four Nigerians on show as Chelsea end Fulham’s six-match unbeaten run

Chelsea have ended Fulham’s six-match unbeaten run in all competitions following their 1-0 victory in a Premier League match at Craven Cottage on Saturday evening.
As for team news, Fulham boss named three players of Nigerian descent Tosin Adarabioyo, Ademola Lookman and Ola Aina in his starting lineup, and Josh Onomah was brought in with eleven minutes remaining.
Fulham shot themselves in the foot as Antonee Robinson was dismissed in the 44th minute, with the VAR backing up the original decision taken by referee Peter Bankes.
Versatile Super Eagles defender Aina shifted to the left after the United States international was shown a red card.
Both sides had their chances but it was deadlocked at half time, Chelsea coming closest with an effort from Mason Mount hitting the woodwork in the 28th minute.
Twelve minutes from time, Chelsea’s pressure and persistence paid off as Mount made the difference and proved the match winner with his second goal of the season.
Fulham couldn’t hang on to another point, their run of draws in the Premier League ending at five and they remain rooted in the relegation zone ahead of another tough game against Manchester United on Wednesday, January 20.
