24-yr-old salesboy, one other arrested for stealing N2.5m goods

 

A 24-yr-old sale boy, Chinedu Oguine is cooling his heels in police net for allegedly stealing goods worth N2,508,900 belonging to his boss, recently.

Pilot Crime learnt that the suspect was arrested alongside his accomplice, Uzochuku Ejiofor who received the stolen goods.

According to Police source, the case was reported at the Area Commander’s office by the victim Thompson Oguine of Taiwo road, Ilorin.

“Oguine employed the suspect sometimes in 2017 as his sales officer and handed over the business to him to run on his behalf.

“However, when the boss came around to take inventory of his goods, it was discovered that some were missing. Penultimate Sunday, the suspect sneaked into the shop and carted away electrical materials worth N40,000.”

The police source added that following the complaint, the suspect was arrested and taken into custody at the Area Command.

“During interrogation the sales boy confessed to the crime and named Ejiofor as the receiver of the stolen goods.

“The confession led to the arrest of the businessman, who owns a shop opposite Oguine’s. Ejiofor also confessed to have collected the goods from Chinedu.โ€

Efforts to contact the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state command, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi over the matter proved abortive, as calls and text messages sent to his mobile lines were not responded to at the time of filing this report.
