LADDU seeks govt partnership for community development

The Lafiagi Descendant Development Union (LADDU) has sought for more government support in the development of the community.
The National President of the union, Alhaji Abubakar Yaya Isa said this on Saturday during the 2019 LADDU Summit/Town Hall Meeting held at the premises of the Kwara State College of Education Technical, Lafiagi.
LADDU is a social-cultural organisation headquartered in Lafiagi, Edu Local Government Area in Kwara North.
While noting the giant strides the union has made in the advancement of the community, the National President appealed to the government of Kwara State to compliment LADDU’s communal efforts towards the upliftment of its people and community.
He thanked Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his interest and regular on the spot assessments of government infrastructures and corporate interest in Lafiagi.
Isa listed the construction of the 6km Chewuru Ferry Port road, Lafiagi-Lalagi-Lade, Lafiagi-Guduzuru-Shonga roads, repair of Egwa bridge, takeover of College of Education Lafiagi and rehabilitation of other infrastructures among various projects as areas of intervention the community implore the Governor to consider.
”I wish to specially appreciate and thank Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his quick intervention in the rescue of the kidnapped Turkish nationals. He has not only settled the salaries of College of Education (Technical) Lafiagi staff but further ordered the release of N59.5M for accreditation of courses in the college”, he added.
In his remark, chairman of the occasion and Taliban Lafiagi, Architect Salihu Suleiman said Government Secondary School Lafiagi is among the schools earmarked to be renovated by the Governor this year adding that the present administration’s focus for more infrastructural provision in Kwara North is a step in the right direction which will rob-off on the overall development of the state.
Emir of Lafiagi, Alhaji Sa’adu Kawu Haliru on his part enjoined sons and daughters of the community to work together for the growth and development of the Lafiagi and emirate at large and charged indigenous businessmen and women to properly register their companies with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to have opportunity of partnership with the present administration for the development of the state.
In his Goodwill message, the Sha’aba of Lafiagi, Alhaji Abdulrahman Manzuma commended the Union and further charged them not to relent in the efforts to put the community in the global map through by rallying everybody together for progress.
