Kwara police, NSCDC deploy 2,600 officers for Easter

For the hitch free Esther celebration, the Kwara State Police Command, Nigeria security and civil defense corps deployed 2,600 men to strategic parts of the state.
This was contained in the separate statements issued by the security agencies and made available to our medium.
The Kwara Commissioner of Police Muhammed Bagega through his command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ajayi Okasanmi said, strong conventional and Tactical Units operatives were deployed to ensure a hitch free Easter celebrations in the state.
The statement enjoined the residents of the state to go about their lawful businesses without fear.
It urged them to report any suspicious movement or objects around them for police’s prompt action.
The statement also advised them to ensure moderation in all their activities during the celebrations.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State Command in its statement disclosed that more than 600 hundred armed and regular personnel were deployed to various government installations and critical national assets in Kwara State to forestall any vandalization and break down of law and order during the Easter celebrations.
The state Commandant Makinde Iskil Ayinla stated this in a statement signed by the PRO Babawale Zaid on Tuesday.
Makinde explained that there might be influx of criminal elements into the state during the Easter celebrations which may result in the increase in crime rate, hence the need to secure the pipelines, borders, railway station, mast, and other Federal and state government’s physical structures in the state.
The Commandant added that the Corps will work together with sister security agencies to identify various flash points in the state and warned criminal minded elements to stay away from the state or be ready to face full wrath of the law.
