Scores of traditional rulers grace fidau of Ganmo monarch

Scores of traditional rulers of Igbomina extraction, Kwara State, last
Thursday paid their last respect to the Olugana of Ganmo, Ifelodun
local Government Area of the state, Oba Kolawole Abdullahi Bako during
the fidau for the deceased.
The monarch penultimate Thursday breathed his last, exactly 24 hours
after the demise of his wife.
Among the traditional rulers in attendance were; the Olokanle of
Okanle, Oba Ismail Babatunde, Olowu of Igbo Owu, Oba Abdulrasaq
Oyedola, Oba Jimoh Oyewale of Jimba Oja, Alamoyo of Amoyo, Oba Jamiu
Oyebola and Elesa of Oke-Ode.
Speaking at the event, the founder of Al-Hikmah University, Chief
Abdulraheem Oladimeji charged indigenes of Igbomina to be united
adding that it is only through this that development can be achieved
in the area.
Similarly, Oba Babatunde of Okanle, urged his colleagues to guide
against power struggle as death is inevitable for all mortals.
On his part, the Olowu of Owu said, “I should have said today is a sad
day for me but death is destined for us all. It is a must, everyone
will die. We don’t want the Olugana to leave us now but it has been
destined.”
According to Oba Oyewale (Jimba Oja), the Olugana was his bosom friend
while the duo were traders in Lagos.
He said, “We were together in Lagos where he was selling iron and I
was selling planks.”
In his sermon, Sheikh Abdullahi Olohunkemi enjoined the children of
the late Olugana to emulate the good deeds of their father.
He further that, they should not forget those that stand still with
their father during his reign as the king of Olugana of Ganmo.
The cleric further charged them to be patient, respectful and to remain united.
