There was palpable fear among people of Woro village in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, following the invasion of gunmen on Friday.
The yet to be identified gunmen were said to have invaded a Fulani camp in the area and inflicted grievous injury on their victim simply identified as Alhaji Musa.
The invaders were said to have stabbed their victim on the stomach before fleeing the scene.
Confirming the case to our reporter, the Public Relations Officer of Kwara Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Babawale Afolabi said ” On Friday, 18th of June, 2021, at about 4:15hrs, four suspected Fulani armed robbers invaded one Alhaji Musa’s camp , Woro Kaiama.
“The Fulani man and his family were sleeping, when the suspected armed robbers forcefully entered Alhaji Musa’s room and asked him to bring all the money he has.
“The Fulani man raised the alarm, but as other members of the family were coming out to rescue him, one of the robbers stabbed him. “,
According to him, the robbers immediately flee the scene without taking anything.
“NSCDC officers at Woro out post visited the crime scene and assisted the family in taking the victim to Woro where they boarded a vehicle that carried them to the nearest General Hospital New Bussa Niger State.
“However, the victim later gave up in the ghost at the hospital. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the gunmen who are at large,” Afolabi added.
