The call for separation is against will of Allah – Cleric

A cleric in Ilorin has enjoined the Muslim and non Muslim in Nigeria to shun the call and cause of those calling for the separation of the country
Imam Isiaq Yakub ,the Imam of Osere/Oko erin/Odo Okun central Mosque, Ilorin ,said this on Friday while addressing the congregation during his sermon before leading the congregants in the compulsory weekly two units prayer.
The Islamic Scholar emphasized that calling for separation is not encouraged by Islam, rather the religion is always calling for unity of all people and in that premise, the unity of Nigeria.
He added that, ” Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo are one in the sight of Allah and it is in our unity shall we find progress and development, also in this same unity we shall meet the favour and mercy of Allah which has been upholding this nation”.
Yakub also stressed on the importance of tolerance to the survival of the country, saying that, “the country will only survive the storm it is undergoing with tolerance for one another’s inequities and looking beyond each other’s mistakes” he said.
The cleric however entreat the people behind the call for separation of the country to abandon the cause and give oneness and peace a chance in order for the country to develop.
In the second part of the Khutbah, the Imam stressed that the people should sought after the real fortune which is the fear of Allah and not the vain Lust after the worldly possessions
Yakub in his own statement, he said “Most people erroneously believe worldly possessions such as money, houses, cars and other things are the true fortune that a person can possess and sought after but this is a grave mistake and misconception.
“The true definition of wealth and fortune is having the fear of Allah in the heart and also doing good to all creation of Allah irrespective of who they’re and where they came from” he noted.
He added that, “Having the fear of Allah will hold one back from engaging in unlawful and illicit acts ,such as adultery, stealing, ,Kidnapping and Mutilating the body of a fellow human being ,all of which is frowned upon by the law of Allah and common sense”.
The Imam also disclosed that the loss of fear of Allah in recent times is the reason why prayers are no longer answered as it used to be in the time past.
Imam Yakub, harping on the need to abandon the frivolities of life for the hereafter stated that, “the Prophet said anyone that seeks the hereafter instead of the worldly things will be rewarded with wealth of the world ,while the person that only seek the world will be denied the benefits of both the world and the hereafter” he said.
He also encouraged the people to believe in the power of Allah and his signs and miracles that He has demonstrated over the years and through many messengers.
Yakub however entreated the Muslim faithfuls to always deposit their trust solely in Allah and not in their fellow human beings who can do nothing except by the leave of Allah.
