Prepare for day you’ll leave this earth -Cleric warns

By Jimoh Sulyman
Muslims have been encouraged to always make the necessary preparations in anticipation of the day, they will be made to exit this world.
This was said on Friday by Imam Abdullateef Mustapha, the Chief Imam of Temidayo Central Mosque, Adualere area of Ilorin Kwara state ,while delivering his weekly sermon to the congregation.
The Imam urged the Muslim faithfuls to prepare for their exit from this world adding that, death is imminent and its day is at arm stretch and more so it will come unexpectedly with little to no announcement.
He however noted that we are going to leave this earth when we least expect it ,hence we should always have it in our thoughts that the end is nigh and it will catch up on us when the time comes. Mustapha said.
He also advised the congregation to pay attention to their ‘tomorrow’ and among these ‘tomorrow’ are the Children that will carry on their legacy, their good deeds and utterances but if any of these is defaulted, their Qiyamah will be affected as well.
According to the cleric, The noble Prophet Muhammad said “If anyone turn his life to a garden for cultivating good deeds, surely the person will harvest its crop on the day of Qiyamah”.
Imam Mustapha continued that “the essence of cultivation is the expectations of having a bountiful harvest but what will be the fate of a person who didn’t plant anything on his farm ,on the day of Qiyamah what will that person do and who will lend the fellow the reward for their own good deeds? ,the Imam queried.
He also explained that no one can borrow the reward of someone else’s good deeds because on the day of Qiyamah each soul will bare its own burden.
Mustapha however charged the Muslims to do all the good deeds they can while they’re still breathing because there won’t be any opportunity for good deed nor rewards after death
The Imam noted that It is only Allah that creates and He does so has He wishes and no one have the power to question His decisions.
He also encouraged the congregation to have the belief that only Allah can change situations, the way He change seasons.
He however stressed that, changing the situation of the country is in the hands of the people in it, because Allah said that He will not change the situation of any group of people ,unless they themselves change their own selves.
Mustapha also noted that Wealth is only in the hands of Allah and no one can bestow it on anyone except by the leave of Allah, He can make a pauper to become enormously rich and He can reduce a wealthy person to a pauper.
The Islamic Scholar entreated the Muslim faithfuls to always show readiness to assist their fellow human beings especially their extended and nuclear family members
He stated that, “It is important for a Muslim that is well-to-do to let people benefit from their wealth while they’re still alive whereby much emphasis is laid on their family members”.
While giving the admonition, he stressed that, “Don’t neglect your family ,approach them with goodness”, he said
The Imam assured that “It is only Allah that can bestow knowledge on a person and anyone who Allah has blessed with knowledge and wisdom, should be careful of the way they are deploying those attributes.
“It is only Allah that is knowledgeable and wise, we all need to be humble enough to understand that the wisdom and knowledge we so much cherish is just a minute droplet from the oceans of Allah’s wisdom and knowledge” , Mustapha asserted.
Imam issued a warning to the people while weighing in on the issue of secessionist calls, He said the people should turn their backs on those people saying that those that are calling for breakage of the country are only doing it for their selfish interest.
While lamenting the prevalence of bloodshed in the country, the cleric stated that “anyone who kills a fellow human being unjustly will surely end up in hell”.
